Travel

How to reach us

Visas

  • Check at the site of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs for official information concerning the visa requirements and some other details, like possibility to travel to Serbia with only ID card.

By plane

  • The closest airport is the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (IATA code: BEG) (under 80km/50mi from Novi Sad).
  • For transfer from the Belgrade airport you can use the public transport.
  • Timetables and prices of bus services connecting the airport to Belgrade. To get from the airport to Beograd Centar train station use line 600. You can use also taxi services. Current price for the travel from the airport to Novi Beograd train station is 2300 RSD (around 20 EUR). You might also consider a door-to-door Belgrade Airport-Novi Sad transfer service, especially if you are arriving in small groups.
  • Another airport is the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (IATA code: BUD); From Budapest, you can get to Novi Sad either by bus or also door-to-door transfer service

By bus

By train

  • You can reach Novi Sad by train from Belgrade. The trip lasts between 33 and 56 minutes, and the return ticket costs less than 10 EUR. You can board the train either at Beograd Centar or at Novi Beograd train station. Note that Beograd Centar is a bit further from the airport but it may be easier to find the exact boarding location there. There are four options to buy the train tickets. One is via Srbijavoz app on Google Play or App Store, the second is via machines at the train stations, the third is at the counter at Beograd Centar train station (note that there is no counter at Novi Beograd train station), and the fourth is to buy the ticket in the train (note that this should be used as the last option as it may leave you without a seat).

When you are in Novi Sad

  • Bus and train station are close to each other. You can take bus number 4 to reach University campus. Starting station is just where you will leave the bus. You can buy ticket from the driver, and it costs 100 RSD. Also, you may take Taxi from the Taxi station a little bit to the left from the exit of the railway station (close to the old steam engine). In both cases you will need some dinars. You may exchange in any exchange office. There is one at the building closest to the station at the other side of the street. There are no significant differences between them. Also, just 50m further is ATM.
